Explorons le Bois de Vincennes...le Poumon de Paris!
The Bois de Vincennes is a large park to the East of Paris. It was designed in the English landscape manner. The park is named
after the town of Vincennes, which is just north of the park.
The Bois de Vincennes, and it's counterpart to the west of Paris, the Bois
de Bologne, is generally not counted as part of Paris. It consists of
public land with only a few custodians residing in the park. For administrative purposes, it is part of the 12eme arrondissement
of Paris.
It has an area of nearly 4 square miles (2,458 acres), which is almost three times larger
than Central Park in New York and four times larger
than Hyde Park in London.
To reach the park, take the métro to Porte Dorée or Château de Vincennes.
